Matters

It doesn't matter so much, what you want at the time, what matters more, is how you are in time, you may even get close to what you think you want, and, if it's the right moment in time, you may even find the way to what you never expected to want.
So i thought.

Snow has been on the ground for about five months, and more's in the forecast tonight. Lake Michigan was over 90% frozen this winter,. any blue that looks like water was not in a liquid state as of this week Monday.

Land of Ice and Snow

Parked on roadside at Pier Cove overlooking Lake Michigan.

Zoom in

The land drops off the other side of the almost buried by snow drifts fence; there is a public beach below, accessible by stairs in more clement weather, so what can be seen would all be open water but is now ice as far as one can see.

Couple more shots taken from the road on the dead end road to the north (private property).

Lake Michigan Blues

It was a bright sunny morning and early afternoon. I hit the beach about 2pm; so did the snowflakes. By the time I got out of the Jeep the clouds and snow had rolled in. I'm convinced the world takes a great degree of glee in messin' with me, not to mention gravity, one side t'other, and water down my sleeve. Connect the dots...

winter's day

allusions from new illusions
something is wrong
nothing matters

a master juggler plays it out
in a world of random chaos
gravity catches on
a solitary bird sings a song
of a joy never in doubt

a mind deliquesces
lean against the wind
find solace in the susurrus

red white and blue

Walked about a mile and a half in the f-f-f-freezing cold, through snow drifts just below my knees, uphill both ways, to catch a rare glimpse of a winter sunset over Lake Macatwa. Last pic taken 1 or 2 minutes before the first, from the same spot in the opposite direction. Top pic - clouds coming in over Lake Michigan (in the distance) for another week of snow.

a walk in the park

a much more normal winter day in Michigan. tint o'blue is merely a camera illusion, it's gray and snowing - stark beauty.

Happy Solstice

what have you done what did you do
you gave it all up now didn't you
why don't you think again dear one
sometimes it's hard to let it all go
sometimes it's hard to start anew
what will you do what can be done
if sometimes it's hard
to really understand
here is there everywhere under the sun
and sometimes it's hard to let it all go
just let it all go as the sun comes 'round again
